There is a 16-year age of consent in Finland. Its purpose is to provide criminal-law protection against sexual abuse.

Get help if you have experienced sexual abuse!

  • If there is a Seri support centre in your area and it is less than a month since the incident, contact it. If there is no Seri support centre, you can get acute help from your local emergency service or health centre.
  • Help is also provided by several organizations, such as the Rape crisis centre Tukinainen and the Victim support Finland Riku.
